EARTH WEAVERS

is a platform for people gathering to share skills in crafts, self-sufficiency and natural living. Through community workshops we teach and learn how to make things by hand, live more from the land and create a local production of things we need in everyday life.

We host monthly workshops in various locations, and share skills and ressources to make crafts more accessible to people everywhere.

THE JOURNEY

As a member, you are here to learn how to become more self-sufficient with things in your everyday life, make things with your hands and connect with the earth.

You can be a beginner in crafts, here to learn how to make things, wanting to find your craft, or have your own practice already, but craving to learn more, share skills and create community.

You will be introduced to a myriad of crafts throughout the year. You have the opportunity to learn at least 12 new crafts and things you can make for the rest of your life.

You can cancel your membership anytime - but most people stay for years!

WORKSHOPS

We gather to learn crafts. Each month we dive deep into a new craft.

We weave, spin, forage, bake, bind books, make soap, knit — and in every way recall the crafts of our ancestors, connect to the earth, and make things that are useful.

At every workshop you will leave with something to take home, and skills for life.

You can read more about the workshops and sign up here

WHEEL OF THE YEAR

Throughout the year we learn crafts that follow the cycle of the seasons.

We start with the spring equinox and follow the Wheel of the Year until spring equinox 2027. You are welcome to join anytime of the year.

NOURISHMENT

At all our workshops we serve teas, that we forage ourselves, and snacks.

In Skovhaven we also serve a delicious plant-based lunch: seasonal nourishment for the senses.

For local workshops the general idea is to bring a dish for a community potluck. This will be specified in the description of the workshop or in the e-mail you receive before the event.

SENSES

The space and atmosphere matters to us. We want aesthetically pleasing surroundings, tactile materials, candle-lit rooms, warmth, soothing music and the quiet hum of a room full of people working with their hands.

Our workshops are not only intended for production and learning, they are retreats from a busy world. We create soft, slow, tactile and visually pleasing immersions, that calms your nervous system.

We invite you to sense, touch, smell and taste through the workshop, because the work of tending the earth, begins with becoming embodied - grounding, present and sensual.

CHILDREN / FAMILY

EARTH WEAVERS started with a baby in a sling.

Children are always welcome to witness, to learn, to participate, to be near their caregivers while we work. This is how skills were passed down for generations — not in isolation, but in community, with little ones watching and learning beside us.

Partners or other family members are welcomed for free to support your participation.

VISION

EARTH WEAVERS is not just a membership. It's a movement. A vision in action.

We believe that communities everywhere can become self-sufficient twith everything they need in everyday life. We just don't have the skills yet. Our ancestors did, but because of indiustrialization, we lost this heritage. We are here to bridge this gap, remember the skills, and live more from the land and things made by hand.

We gather around craft — learning skills that make us less dependent on systems that don't serve us, and more connected to the land, to each other, and to the things we make with our hands.

Our vision is a to create a platform for workshops in sustainable living and form a global network of local communities — each rooted in place, connected by practice.

We are creating a marketplace to gather crafters and educators in the tangible arts, a network of crafters and online courses, so that you can have all the ressources at home as well. Stay tuned!

NON-PROFIT VALUES

We are a non-profit organization. We are not here to make a profit, this is not a business. We are here to share skills, to build community and to make the capitalist system obsolete.

Once we are all making things by hand, sharing our crafts with others and getting everything we need form our local community, we don't need big industries and cooperations. We halt the pollution of our planet, and create regeneration.

For every skill we learn, we have the opportunity to stop buying things, save money and save the planet from harm. It takes a day to learn something new, but it will last you a life-time. Hopefully, you can pass it on as well, and in this way we create ripples outwards.

VOLUNTEERS

This is a volunteer-run community where we learn together and from each other. Willing members take turns facilitating workshops — so knowledge flows in all directions. This is how we maintain accessability – skills should not just be for the wealthy.

We don't get paid to be at our workshops. We are here because we are passionate about community gatherings, to share skills and create lasting change.

Our workshops are not products - they are gatherings. You are not consumers, but co-creators and equal members. That is why we are EARTH WEAVERS. In plural - this includes you.

We work voluntarily, because we believe this is the form our organizational activism must look. We believe in mutual aid and reciprocity. We give something, we also receive alot!

As hosts for a workshop we get to meet new people, share our gifts, present our work and practice our art. We are contributing to a movement towards a more handmade world and the regeneration of our planet.

Hosts & workshop facilitators are compensated for transport and materials, and get a full year membership (3000 DKK). Everyone is welcome to host workshops - both on our locations, or anywhere you want. We are working on creating a system that enables this.
